GenoTher Summit 2025: An International Summit to Sharpen the Future of Gene Therapy

On June 11, 2025, Généthon, the AFM-Téléthon laboratory, is co-organizing the GenoTher Summit 2025 in Évry, a major international scientific event bringing together the gene therapy ecosystem with a shared ambition: sharpening the strategic trajectory and industrial readiness of innovative treatments for rare diseases and beyond.
A Summit Driven by Innovation and Collaboration
Spearheaded by the GenoTher biocluster, recently designated a “Biocluster of Excellence” under the France 2030 initiative, this inaugural summit aims to structure a high-level dialogue between researchers, industry leaders, investors, clinicians, institutions, and public authorities.
Program Highlights:
- High-level scientific conferences showcasing the latest breakthroughs in gene therapy, from proof of concept to clinical applications,
- Networking sessions designed to enhance synergy between academic, private, and institutional stakeholders,
- The official launch of GenoTher, a bold initiative born from the collective vision of major partners, including AFM-Téléthon via Généthon, Genopole, AP-HP, Inserm, Université d’Évry Paris-Saclay, Spark Therapeutics, and Yposkesi.
GenoTher, a Strategic Catalyst for a New Therapeutic Era
GenoTher’s mission is to position France as a global reference in gene therapy. Its roadmap is built around key transformational levers:
- Development of shared technological platforms for research and industrial-scale production,
- Rollout of disruptive technologies, such as genome editing and RNA-based approaches,
- Optimization of production costs through next-generation biomanufacturing,
- Development of talent pipelines and career frameworks aligned with sectoral challenges,
- Proactive support for biotech entrepreneurship through incubation and acceleration programs.
An already dynamic ecosystem underpins this momentum: over 2,000 researchers and clinicians, 10,000 scientific publications, 2,000 patents, and more than 40 licensing agreements in gene therapy are driven by the biocluster’s partners.
